The Leisure and Recreation Services Department’s purpose is to activate and connect our community. Role The Recreation and Open Space Project Manager will provide Council with high‑quality project management of recreation and open space projects that reflect current and future community needs. Responsibilities Lead, plan and manage recreation and open space projects from inception through to delivery, ensuring alignment with community needs and Council strategies. Coordinate multi‑disciplinary teams, manage scope, schedule, budgets and risks; adapt to priorities in a changing environment. Engage with community groups, stakeholders and partner organisations to support consultation, collaboration and successful implementation. About you / Qualifications Tertiary qualifications in recreation, leisure studies, planning, landscape architecture, urban design, project management, or related field. Significant experience in developing recreation strategies, masterplans, policies and feasibility studies; understanding of processes for successful implementation. Strong planning project management knowledge and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities to meet timelines. Excellent communication, community engagement and consultation skills; experience working with community groups such as local environmental groups, resident associations or sports clubs. Ability to collaborate across teams and lead multi‑disciplinary work in a proactive, team‑oriented environment.
