The Opportunity We're looking for a proactive and community-minded Recreation & Open Space Liaison Officer to strengthen relationships with local clubs, drive participation, and support the sustainable growth of sport and recreation across the City. The Recreation & Open Space Liaison Officer plays a key role between the City and local sport and recreation groups. The position supports clubs to grow their capacity, improve governance and access funding, while proactively resolving issues and fostering collaboration across user groups. Working closely with internal teams, the role ensures community sport and recreation needs are considered in the planning and delivery of City facilities. This position also contributes to strategic projects, administers bookings, allocations and maintenance of sport and recreation facilities. Key Responsibilities Sport and Recreation Administration Support Recreation Development Facility Management Customer Service Service Promotion About You Tertiary qualification in Recreation Management, Sport Management or similar discipline. Demonstrated experience in sport and recreation development. Demonstrated experience in a local government or community setting. Proven ability to liaise with diverse community groups, sporting clubs, state sporting associations and contractors. Demonstrated experience in the delivery of minor capital works projects and programs. Valid Working with Children Check No relevant criminal record found in a police check. Why Choose Maribyrnong?
