FMR Investments is currently seeking an experienced residential Civils Supervisor, based in the Goldfields region, to immediately join our team at the Greenfields Gold Mill . This role plays a vital part in achieving our development and production targets. POSITION SUMMARY Employment Type Permanent full-time position Location Based at our Greenfields Mill approximately 3km east of Coolgardie (NO FIFO) Roster Hours 10hr shifts on a 5:2 roster SUMMARY OF ROLE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES As the Civils Supervisor at our Gold Mill in Western Australia, you will coordinate and oversee civil works to support the mill and associated infrastructure. You’ll ensure that operators and contractors perform tasks safely, efficiently, and in line with site standards. This leadership role provides technical guidance and planning to maintain haul roads, drainage, tailings, laydown areas, and other key civil assets critical to safe and reliable processing operations. Your key responsibilities will include: Supervising daily activities of civil operators and contractors to ensure safe and efficient task execution. Planning and allocating resources, equipment, and personnel to meet operational requirements. Overseeing civil works such as road maintenance, drainage, bunding, sumps, and tailings facility support. Conducting inspections to ensure work quality, compliance, and environmental standards. Leading pre-start meetings and toolbox talks while promoting safe work practices. Supporting shutdowns and mill projects through effective planning and execution of civil works. Managing equipment utilisation and ensuring accurate reporting of pre-starts and defects. Communicating progress, risks, and issues to the Shift Supervisor and other key departments. General Duties Lead, mentor, and support civil operators and contractors in daily activities. Ensure all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with site procedures. Conduct inspections of haul roads, drainage, and other civil infrastructure. Manage materials, tools, and equipment to meet work schedules. Support mill shutdowns and site improvement projects. Maintain high standards of safety, performance, and teamwork. Be flexible and willing to undertake other site-based duties as required. Equipment, Machinery, Systems & Tools Heavy civil equipment – excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, rollers, trucks, and water carts. Small tools and civil support equipment such as compactors and power tools. Mine site management systems (safety, work management, and fleet systems). Administrative Documentation & Reporting Complete daily shift reports, equipment utilisation logs, and work progress records. Maintain records of operator performance, training, and compliance. Report incidents, near misses, hazards, and corrective actions promptly. Contribute to short-term planning and scheduling of civil works. Health, Safety, Compliance & Communication Adhere to all company policies, environmental standards, and site procedures (including the WHS Act & Regulations) Communicate effectively and complete all required documentation accurately and on time Conduct routine inspections to identify and control hazards KEY REQUIREMENTS Significant experience in civil operations within mining or heavy industry. Proven supervisory or leading hand experience. Strong understanding of road, drainage, and tailings maintenance. Demonstrated ability to plan, allocate, and manage resources effectively. Strong knowledge of mine site safety and environmental systems. Experience in gold processing or tailings dam management. Exposure to budgeting, cost tracking, and short-term planning. Leadership or management training/certification. First Aid Certificate. About you Reside locally in the Goldfields region of Western Australia (no FIFO). A can-do, team-oriented attitude.
