About the role: Join our team as a Lecturer in Psychology and help shape future professionals by coordinating impactful student placements in the Master of Professional Psychology program. You'll also contribute to teaching, research, and service, making a real difference in the field. This position is suited to a person with an emerging record and passion for learning and teaching, a keen interest in contributing to community engagement for teaching and employability. As a Lecturer in Psychology/Placement Coordinator, Education-focused, you will: Work with the Director of Clinical Programs, Partnerships and Course Directors within the Professional Psychology Programs to develop and maintain relationships with agencies for the purpose of securing and providing high quality professional placement opportunities for Postgraduate Professional Psychology students. Develop and administer professional development programs for field supervisors to facilitate the growth of the number of placement supervisors in the region who meet the criteria for Registered Supervisor endorsed status as required by the Psychology Board of Australia. Oversee and fulfil the recording of placement data, including completion of internal and external records. Teach in the area of professional psychology at the postgraduate level that is consistent with the University’s principles of teaching, learning and the student experience. Contribute to the review of units and courses and implement refinements. Assist in applying industry, clinical and/or research practice into student learning experiences, success, engagement and resources. To be successful, you’ll have: PhD in a relevant discipline and/or other relevant qualifications (for example, Masters) and experience. Registered psychologist (APHRA). Psychology Board of Australia approved supervisor status. Record of scholarly learning and teaching in UG and/or PG programs, including innovative curriculum design. Demonstrated passion for teaching and learning. Ability to deliver effective teaching practices to improve student success and engagement.
