We’re looking for a passionate professional to lead social and community planning strategies that strengthen wellbeing, equity, and resilience across Wollondilly. In this role, you’ll provide expert advice, deliver Social and Health Impact Assessments, and collaborate with Council, health partners, and local stakeholders to shape healthy, inclusive environments for the future. Please note: This position is a jointly funded position between Council and South Western Sydney Local Health District. The principal place of work will be at Council’s offices in Picton, however, there will be potentially up to one day per week working at Liverpool Hospital in collaboration with the SWSLHD’s Population Health Unit. Qualifications and Requirements Tertiary qualifications in Social Planning, Social Work/Social Sciences, Urban Planning, Public Health or related fields, and/or extensive demonstrated experience. Current NSW Class C Driver’s Licence & Current Working with Children’s Check. A well‑developed understanding and experience of the relationship between the built environment and health and wellbeing outcomes. Extensive experience in developing, implementing and monitoring social and community planning strategies, policies and place‑based initiatives that promote social inclusion, equity, wellbeing and resilience across diverse and growing populations, including through the creation of inclusive programs and community spaces. Proven ability to lead and deliver Social and Health Impact Assessments (SaHIA), with a strong understanding of land use planning processes and healthy built environment principles. Strong analytical skills, with experience using demographic and social data to identify gaps, prepare reports, develop funding proposals, and inform short‑to‑long‑term strategic decision‑making. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective partnerships with the local health districts, government agencies, non‑government organisations, and community groups to co‑design responses to emerging needs and advocate for shared priorities.
