network Security Specialist – NV1 Required Work for leading Telco company, theyre looking for a Cyber Security Specialist to support cyber governance, risk, and compliance, while working across multiple technologies and government frameworks. This role offers hands-on experience with Fortinet systems, incident response, and security uplift initiatives. this is a 6 month contract with a high chance of extension What You’ll Be Doing Develop security documentation, processes, and work instructions from scratch. Support cyber incident response and assist with IR exercises. Conduct vulnerability scanning/assessment using Tenable. Contribute to backup & recovery processes and develop BCP/DRP documentation. Assist with SIEM integration. Work with Fortinet systems, including PAM integration, wireless network assessments, and network operations. Advise internal teams, project groups, and agencies on governance, risk, and compliance. Conduct risk assessments and control gap analyses across Fortinet systems and related processes. Essential Skills & Experience Active NV1 clearance Knowledge of Australian Government frameworks: PSPF, ISM, Essential Eight Experience with Fortinet systems Familiarity with incident response, Tenable vulnerability scanning/assessment, backup & recovery, BCP/DRP, SIEM integration Strong written and verbal communication skills Experience in GRC, including security documentation, risk assessment, and control testing Desirable Skills & Experience Ability to run or support Incident Response exercises Experience with Fortinet PAM integration Fortinet wireless network assessments General network operations experience Why Apply?
