About The OPPORTUNITY We have an opportunity for a IPS/ILS Supportability Engineering Team Lead to join our Maritime Sustainment business, working on the newest ship platform, the Hobart Class DDG naval ships. Reporting to the Engineering Assurance Manager, you will have the opportunity to demonstrate your IPS/ILS (Integrated Product/Logistic Support) supportability engineering expertise and your people leadership skills. This key position will be offered on a permanent full time basis and will be situated at Garden Island (Potts Point), Sydney. We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, including working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working. Key Responsibilities Include Plan, manage and execute the delivery of IPS/ILS supportability engineering activities Provide leadership to a small IPS/ILS supportability engineering team, coach and develop personnel, ensuring services provided meet business objectives Oversee, provide direction and support in the development of IPS/ILS activities Act as a point of contact and provide IPS/ILS supportability engineering advice to the customer and other key internal and external stakeholders Identify and investigate IPS/ILS supportability engineering problems and risks, formulating strategies for their resolution Act as the design acceptance representative for the IPS/ILS supportability engineering activities Drive culture of IPS/ILS supportability engineering best practice, efficiency and continuous improvement About YOU Extensive IPS/ILS, or logistic engineering, or supportability engineering technical experience Demonstrated experience with Logistics Support Analysis (LSA), Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA), Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) Analysis, Level of Repair Analysis (LORA), and Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) People leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to manage an ILS engineering team and provide effective leadership, direction and motivation to the team Good customer and subcontractor management skills, and the ability to influence and develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders Knowledge of systems engineering, good problem solving skills and self-motivation Whilst not essential, Defence Sustainment program experience, will be highly regarded We believe in hiring for potential, we know that some candidates hesitate if they don’t tick all the boxes.
