Primary objective Provide sound professional advice critical in dealing with significant issues related to assessment, planning, review, evaluation, and coordination of education programs in the defined practice area. Context statement Provides excellence and innovation in developing, delivering and coordinating training and education as per Clinical Education Team, CARHS; which is consistent with national standards and adult learning principles, to achieve excellence in patient care. Engages with multidisciplinary health teams for collaboration in education and research. Engages in peer review, quality appraisals and evaluation of education and research programs to enhance clinical practice. Mode of training delivery includes face to face, online and blended delivery for clinical areas across regional health services in acute, community (urban and remote), and mental health settings. This comprises the delivery of training packages under the Strengthening Medicare Older Adults initiative in partnership with Aged Care Services. This role may include travel to remote areas. Key duties and responsibilities Collaborate in the development and implementation of education programs to support professional development needs of healthcare workers and address inconsistencies between practice and policy within the defined practice area. Support delivery of excellence in nursing/midwifery care by modelling advanced knowledge, skills, and behaviours for the provision of client care and working alongside less experienced staff to develop appropriate skills, knowledge, abilities, and attitudes. Demonstrate NTH values – safe; responsive; kind – in all decision-making and interactions with consumers and colleagues. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour. Selection criteria Essential Current registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia or eligible for same. Demonstrated education/training or experience in the development and/or delivery of education theory and practice. Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge in an area of nursing/midwifery relating to this vacancy, and application of adult learning principles using a range of modes/methods to enable delivery of high quality clinical and education practice. Demonstrated ability to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate education programs to better meet organisational needs and/or address new and emerging developments. Demonstrated use of effective communication skills to maximise productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and facilitate a positive learning environment. Demonstrates and applies well-developed knowledge and understanding of the social and cultural issues, influences and sensitivities that influence healthcare and delivery of education programmes. Desirable Graduate Diploma, or equivalent, beyond entry to practice relevant to specialty area. The preferred or recommended applicant will be required to hold a current working with children clearance notice and undergo a criminal history check. A criminal history will not exclude an applicant from this position unless it is relevant to the position. This role carries specific immunisation requirements.
