Position Overview: The Program Manager will play a vital role in supporting the Deputy Principal – Operations and Planning in delivering strategic, operational, and capital projects that enhance the College’s facilities, infrastructure, and long‑term planning objectives. This position requires strong project management expertise, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to deliver outcomes that reflect the College’s vision, values, and strategic priorities. The successful applicant must demonstrate a strong background in policy and/or governance‑related projects. Key Accountabilities Project Planning and Delivery Coordinate and manage a portfolio of strategic, operational, and capital works projects from initiation through to completion. Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, and risk assessments. Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and governance requirements. Monitor project progress, resolve issues, and escalate risks as required. Stakeholder Engagement Collaborate with senior leadership, Property Services, Finance & Risk, and academic staff to ensure projects align with College needs. Build effective working relationships with consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities. Prepare reports, presentations, and communications for the Deputy Principal, Executive Team, and Council Committees. Governance and Reporting Implement PMO frameworks and provide timely updates on project milestones, risks, and financial performance. Establish governance structures and ensure compliance with PMO standards. Support the preparation of Council and Committee papers. Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure smooth project handover. Contribute to the development of college project management frameworks and policies. Identify and implement improvements in efficiency, sustainability, and innovation. Oversight of Policies and Procedures Provide oversight of all policies and procedures relating to Operations and Planning to ensure alignment with regulatory, safety, compliance, and College governance frameworks. Coordinate periodic policy reviews, updates, and the development of new procedural documents. Ensure operational policies are embedded in daily practice and communicated effectively across relevant teams. Monitor compliance with policies and elevate issues or risks where appropriate. Selection Criteria Relevant tertiary qualifications in project management, business, or a related field. Demonstrated experience leading and governing multiple projects concurrently in complex multi‑stakeholder environments, preferably within education, public sector or not‑for‑profit. Strong organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Proficiency in project management and portfolio software and Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with school governance and compliance frameworks. Proficiency in Project Management/Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid methodologies. Experience preparing reports and submissions for boards or governance committees.
