Technical Operations Coordinator

In this dynamic position, you will administer the statewide allocation of dispute and Early Dispute Resolution (EDR) complaints across the Building and Technical Inspectorate. You will also provide critical insights through performance reporting, workforce analysis, and forecasting, helping our leadership team meet regulatory, Board, and Ministerial obligations. Key Outcomes And Accountabilities Administer the statewide allocation of inspection and dispute resolution work in accordance with the QBCC Statewide Allocation Model, ensuring matters are distributed fairly, efficiently and aligned with inspector capability. This includes maintaining a customer-focused approach to timeliness and consistency in service delivery across all regions of Queensland. Provide a leadership and mentoring to Senior Building Inspectors, supporting their compliance with obligations under the QBCC Statewide Allocation Model and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and service excellence. Monitor and report on inspectorate performance, providing accurate and timely data analysis of team outputs to support effective case management and ensure high-quality customer outcomes. Analyse workforce and trend data to forecast inspection demand and wait times, and prepare reports that support the Director in meeting QBCC Board and Ministerial reporting obligations. This includes providing insights and recommendations to improve the customer experience by identifying emerging service pressures. Undertake technical analysis of complaints and referrals to determine the scope, complexity and appropriate allocation of work. This involves applying sound technical judgement and providing advice under the Building Act 1975, Planning Act 2016, the Building Code of Australia, relevant Australian Standards and QBCC policies and procedures. Assess inspector capability and experience to ensure appropriate matching of case work to individual inspectors, maintaining confidence in the quality of outcomes delivered to customers. Coordinate with Senior Building Inspectors and Managers to balance workloads across the state, ensuring cases are allocated in accordance with the Statewide Allocation Model and that customer service standards are met. Provide subject matter expertise to digital initiatives, partnering with QBCC's Digital Services team to design, implement and embed system improvements. This includes driving inspector adoption of new digital tools and processes to improve operational efficiency and the customer experience. Provide technical advice and guidance to Resolution Services staff to improve the quality and appropriateness of matters referred for inspection, supporting more effective dispute resolution for customers. Provide timely expert advice to the Director on statewide inspection resourcing, performance trends, emerging risks and innovative process improvements that enhance customer service and deliver effective inspection outcomes across Queensland.
