Home Care Worker Opportunities in Newcastle Job Description When was the last time you made a difference in someone’s life? We are looking for a person with at least 3 months experience in a similar professional role to join the Silverchain team in the Newcastle area. What We’re Offering Guaranteed hours and shifts in the Newcastle area. Rate of $32.86 per hour + super + paid kilometres. Employee benefits program + salary packaging up to $18,550 tax free each year. Accelerated learning programs to gain your professional qualifications (Cert 3). Paid CPR and First Aid courses. What We’re Looking For Enjoy having variety in your day. Are passionate about providing an excellent service. Can build positive relationships with clients and their families. Don’t sweat the small stuff – you can shake off client‑related frustrations and keep moving to your next client. Are comfortable working independently, solving everyday problems, and know when to ask your manager for help. In addition, you will need an open‑class Australian Driver’s Licence and your own insured, road‑worthy vehicle. You must have 3 months or more in a similar professional role, with experience in aged care. Responsibilities General housekeeping and making beds. Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors. Washing, folding and ironing laundry. Meal preparation and grocery shopping. Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day. Assisting clients to take their medications. Assisting with mobility and therapy goals. Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia. Providing social and emotional support. Providing the client with transport to lifestyle activities or appointments. Helping the family carer to have a break or other opportunities.
