About The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Director of Medical Services who is a strong team player and will provide effective leadership and management of medical services provided by both senior and junior medical staff within a vibrant multidisciplinary setting. The successful applicant will be a member of the Orange Health Service Executive team. With the Executive, the Director Medical Services is responsible for strategic leadership and management, for developing and implementing organisational goals, service planning and the setting the values of the Orange Health Service. Where you'll be working You will be based at Orange Health Service, a part of the Western NSW Local Health District. Orange Executive Team has operational accountability for Orange Hospital led by the General Manager. The Director of Medical Services work within a collaborative executive team and is the line manager for all senior and junior doctors as well as the medical administration unit. Working hours are Monday to Friday on site and participation in an executive on call roster. Selection Criteria Registered as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia (MBA) / Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (RACMA). Demonstrated experience operating effectively in a clinical leadership and management role at a executive/senior level inclusive of medical administration, medical workforce, professional practice, clinical governance, clinical ethics, clinical teaching and clinical leadership. Demonstrated expertise managing health financial and activity reporting systems. Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary health issues, rural healthcare priorities and reform agendas within the NSW Health system. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, especially with senior medical practitioners and clinicians. Licence to drive in NSW and ability to travel regularly for work purposes.
