NES Fircroft are working in partnership with a well-established base metals producer in the Mt Isa and Cloncurry region to recruit an Exploration Geologist. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands‑on geologist to join a high performing exploration team across a major base metals district in north west Queensland. The role suits someone who enjoys a mix of field and office work and wants to contribute to exploration programmes from mapping and sampling through to drill support and data interpretation. The role will be offered as a full‑time/staffed position, on an 8/6 FIFO roster with accommodation, food, and other benefits including on‑site gym and pool. Key responsibilities Support exploration programmes including mapping, sampling, core logging, and drill planning Contribute to 3D modelling in Micromine and spatial analysis through GIS Assist with definition drilling and resource development work Integrate geochemical, geophysical, and structural datasets to refine targets Maintain high standards of field safety and data quality Prepare clear and concise geological reports and documentation About you Minimum five years industry experience At least three years experience working in the Mt Isa Inlier or Cloncurry district Experience across multiple deposit types is advantageous Familiarity with Micromine and 2D GIS packages Exposure to definition drilling or resource development viewed favourably Underground exposure considered an advantage Strong field skills, proactive mindset, and ability to work effectively within a multi‑discipline team Please note: this position is only available to candidates with current full Australian working rights.
