About the Role This role requires undertaking a range of clinical and non‑clinical cleaning duties which support the well‑being of patients, staff and others at Kilmore District Hospital. The Environmental Service Assistant will have contact with patients, staff and visitors and will demonstrate effective inter‑personnel skills and an ability to work cooperatively and flexibly so as to not disrupt the operation of the Health Service. Key Responsibilities Perform routine cleaning duties according to established cleaning schedules which include sweeping, mopping and vacuuming of floors in offices, pantries, reception, corridors, wards, toilets, theatre and accommodation, and effective waste management. Laundry practices which include collection of soiled and personal linen, checking and ordering linen supplies, washing linen and redistributing clean and personal linen. Maintain records of the completion of cleaning schedule duties. Use and store cleaning chemicals in a safe manner. Qualifications and Experience Experience and good working knowledge of Environmental Services Cleaning in a Hospital and Age Care setting. Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team. Demonstrated time management and organization skills. Well‑developed interpersonal skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and work flexibly. Displays a commitment to providing quality service to patients and families. Displays an awareness of and works to culturally diverse needs of patients and families.
