We are seeking an Operational Technology Engineer - Cyber Security to join Yokogawas high-performing team based in ourSydney this role you will be essential in safeguarding industrial control systems (ICS) and operational technology (OT) networks across complex process environments. Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing secure network architectures that protect our customers automation assets ensuring reliability safety and peace of mind. What you'll do : Lead Cybersecurity Design & Architecture Develop secure OT network architectures using defence-in-depth strategies network segmentation and secure remote access principles that balance performance safety and protection. Execute Engineering Solutions Support the Lead Engineer in delivering cybersecurity tasks such as risk assessments security control implementation and ensuring compliance with client and industry requirements. Integrate Cybersecurity Across Projects Work with project managers to embed cybersecurity into every project stage from design and procurement through to configuration and delivery. Validate & Test Systems Conduct cybersecurity‑focused Factory and Site Acceptance Testing (FAT / SAT) to ensure secure configurations and compliance. Secure Commissioning & Deployment Oversee on‑site installations and commissioning to confirm secure deployment proper network zoning and verified protection tools. Harden & Protect Systems Configure OT networks and IT systems with secure protocols role‑based access patch management and system hardening to minimise vulnerabilities. Manage Risk & Change Control design changes with a cybersecurity focus ensuring traceability risk mitigation and alignment with secure engineering practices. Be the Go‑To Expert Act as a trusted technical advisor collaborating with global teams sharing threat intelligence supporting proposals and guiding customers on cybersecurity best practices. What you'll bring : 3 years of experience in cybersecurity in OT / ICSevironments. Degree in computer engineering chemical engineering or other relevant degree or equivalent years of experience. Relevant cybersecurity certifications such as GICSP CISSP or ISA / IEC 62443 Cybersecurity Certificate Strong technical knowledge of Industrial Control Systems including SCADA DLC PLC SIS and Operational Technology cybersecurity. Experience designing and implementing secure network solutions including segmentation access control firewalls and intrusion detection systems in an industrial environment. Familiarity with industry standardssuch asIEC 62443NIST CSF andAESCSFallongalong with the ability to apply them in practical real‑world settings. Hands‑on understanding of industrial protocols such as Modbus OPC and PROFINET. Proficiency in network engineering VLANs firewalls IDS / IPS and DMZs Proactive customer‑focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high‑quality safe and reliable outcomes. Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work effectively alongside multiple teams. Problem‑solving approach balancing security safety and operational performance in complex process environments. A genuine interest in continuous learning and contributing to a safer smarter and more secure industrial future. Nice to Have Experience in process automation or industrial networking in a similar industry. Knowledge of cloud integration digital transformation or IIoT security.
