Based in Far North Queensland and part of the global Mitr Phol Group, we operate three sugar mills, extensive farming assets, and a renewable power station producing green energy from bagasse. About the role MSF Sugar is seeking a highly talented and experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join our dynamic Finance team in Gordonvale, Queensland. In this full-time permanent role, you will play a pivotal part in supporting the organisation's strategic financial objectives and ongoing success. What you'll be doing Prepare monthly and annual financial accounts, reports and statements to a high standard Analyse complex financial data and provide meaningful insights to senior stakeholders Lead the implementation and maintenance of effective financial control systems and procedures Contribute to the development and improvement of accounting policies and processes Assist with the preparation of budgets, forecasts and other financial planning activities Provide accounting and financial advisory services to operational business units Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax laws and other regulatory requirements Support the month-end and year-end reporting processes Mentor and develop more junior members of the finance team What we're looking for Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance CPA or CA qualification Minimum 5 years' post-qualification experience in a senior accounting role Demonstrated expertise in financial reporting, accounting standards and tax compliance Proficient in the use of enterprise accounting systems and data analysis tools Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Commitment to continuous learning and professional development What we offer At MSF Sugar, we are proud to offer a supportive and inclusive work environment with opportunities for career growth and development.
