About the Position You are an experienced Technical Engineer who can leverage their technical expertise to effectively communicate the value and applications of FTI Group’s products to engineers and engineering consultancy firms. This role is essential in ensuring that marketing strategies and materials are aligned with the technical language, priorities, and decision‑making processes of these audiences. As a key link between FTI Group’s technical product portfolio and the engineering community, the Technical Engineer will play a vital role in making our marketing efforts technically accurate, relevant, and compelling—particularly when engaging consultancy firms responsible for specifying FTI products in client projects. Key Responsibilities Increase inclusion of FTI products in project specifications and tenders Serve as the technical bridge between our sales team and prospective customers Work closely with our New Product Development team on potential product lines from industry intel Be a partner to improve conversion rates from technically informed marketing campaigns Collaborate with various teams to understand customer requirements and deliver tailored product demonstrations, technical presentations, and proof‑of‑concept engagements Translate customer business challenges into technical solutions using FTI products Act as a trusted advisor to prospects and customers, addressing technical questions, objections, and concerns throughout the sales cycle Work closely with Design, Sales and Operations teams to relay customer feedback, influence product development, and ensure smooth post‑sale transitions Provide technical assistance to our marketing and sales teams during outreach campaigns Ability to create technical marketing collaborations with key stakeholders Work with our marketing team to develop technical marketing content What We Are Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or related field 10+ years’ experience as a sales engineer or similar technical sales role Strong technical background and ability to understand complex technical concepts and effectively communicate them to both technical and non‑technical audiences Demonstrable experience in presenting technical products and services to customers, providing expert advice and troubleshooting customer queries Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport and establish strong relationships with customers and internal teams Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify customer needs and propose innovative solutions Self‑motivated and target‑driven with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team Willingness to travel Seniority level Mid‑Senior level Employment type Full‑time Job function Information Technology Industries Wholesale Building Materials Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at FTI Group by 2x Get notified about new Technical Engineer jobs in Goulburn, New South Wales, Australia .
