Overview Yahoo is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Social Editor to join our team in the APJ region. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the creation and strategic distribution of compelling content across our social media platforms, tailoring stories to the Australian entertainment landscape while staying attuned to global trends. Responsibilities Drive and amplify news and entertainment coverage across social platforms, staying on top of trending news and emerging themes. Monitor and improve content offering across multiple platforms, developing a strong understanding of audience preferences to drive engagement and loyalty. Collaborate on series and franchises with senior editorial leaders and stakeholders to expand content reach in key topic areas. Use a hands‑on storytelling approach to develop original ideas based on trends and topical issues, turning them into innovative formats that captivate the audience. Discover unique and engaging ways to tell stories on social platforms and collaborate on video formats aligned with audience interests and goals. Qualifications & Experience Strong experience working as a social producer in an editorial environment. Proven ability to produce and edit text, graphics, and video content for social media (Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, TikTok). Experience distributing content across multiple social media platforms to drive engagement and grow audiences. In‑depth understanding of social media best practices and creation of shareable content. High‑level writing and communication skills. Creative individual capable of using editing styles and techniques to produce high‑quality, platform‑specific content. Excellent research skills with the ability to tap into emerging trends and pitch unique ideas. Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders. Why Yahoo?
