Light Vehicle Mechanic / Truck Accessory Fitter Our client specialises in major mechanical, fabrication and vehicle body repair, overhauls, rebuilds and major accessory fit‑outs of trucks mainly used in the mining industry, including Explosive Trucks, Tipper Trucks and Water Carts. Our client has recently been awarded several ongoing contracts and is seeking to expand its Bibra Lake workshop team of Tradesmen. We are looking for an experienced Trade‑Qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic who can also work in Truck Accessory Fitting. Working Days: Monday to Friday Standard Working Hours: 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM Job Details As the job title suggests, we are seeking a Trade Qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic who also has experience in Vehicle Accessory Fitting. The workshop supervisor estimates that your time will be divided between the two disciplines as follows: Mechanical – 50% Truck Accessory Fitting – 50% Mechanical Responsibilities The main responsibilities of the role in relation to mechanical will cover the company’s Ute Fleet as well as assisting Heavy Vehicle Mechanics in truck service and repair. Some of the mechanical work the successful candidate will be conducting includes: Minor & Major Service & Repair of Ute Fleet Lubrication Systems Cooling Systems Drivelines Axles & Wheel Ends Suspension Chassis Work Truck Accessory Fitting When working in truck accessory fitting, you will be conducting a wide variety of work that ranges across the following: Trucks – New & Used Accessory Fit‑Out – Bull Bars, Steps, Trays, Lights & Exhausts The majority of the work will involve fitting truck accessories that may cover standard accessories through to larger projects such as fitting side tippers, explosive plant, etc. Projects can cover the following: Bull Bars Trays Steps Electronic Components – Radios, Lights, GPPS, Plant Controls, Tray‑Mounted Hydraulics Levers Hose Reels Explosive Plant Tanks Candidate Profile We are seeking a qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic who meets the following requirements: At least 2 years post‑trade experience working as a Light Vehicle Mechanic Experience in Vehicle Accessory Fitting as part of prior roles as an LV Mechanic Exposure to Diesel Engines Mechanical Experience on Trucks (not required but desired) We also value candidates who consider themselves above average in technical ability, can pick up new skills quickly, and demonstrate strong attitude and work ethic.
