Summary Empower school communities to support students' personal growth by offering insightful spiritual guidance and personalised advice Location: St Francis Xavier - Runaway Bay Start date: Commencing January, 2026 Work hours: 10 hours per week Salary: School Officer Level 5 - $39.44/Hour + super (School Salary Scale) Status: Term Time | Fixed-term Hours & Days/week are negotiable Ad close date: 30 November, 2025 Contact: Ronan O'Mahony | About the opportunity Contribute to and promote the development, alignment, attainment and review of the mission and strategic goals for Brisbane Catholic Education Work closely with others to promote and develop student wellbeing, emotional resilience, positive relationships and a sense of community Collaborate with role holders such as the Campus Minister or APRE in supporting the faith, spiritual and pastoral needs of students Provide appropriate referrals for students in accordance with school approved protocols and processes Promote positive partnerships within and beyond the school community About you Contribute and work with others in partnership for the common goal of students' wellbeing Support students' emotional resilience, positive relationships, and spiritual needs Have key knowledge of support services to assess and provide appropriate referrals for students Build and maintain positive relationships within the school and local community, promoting partnerships that support students' holistic development Demonstrate understanding of Catholic values, emotional intelligence, and crisis management to address the spiritual, emotional, and academic needs of students Certificate IV qualification in Youth Work or Pastoral Care or related field with: Two units of competency in ‘making appropriate referrals’, ‘mental health’, ‘working with young people’ or ‘cultural awareness and support’ Completion of the professional learning package, 'Responding to and Preventing Cyberbullying', delivered by the Office of the eSafety Commissioner within three months of commencing and every two years thereafter For government funded programs, apply for a temporary waiver through Queensland Catholic Education Commission (QCEC), if the above qualifications are not met Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements: Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment Hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement Why choose BCE Opportunities for career advancement and professional development Competitive remuneration and flexible work arrangements (position dependent) Access to targeted AI tools and training with a focus on innovation and strong ethical standards.
