The Work Health & Safety (WHS) Officer will play a key role in supporting the implementation and continual improvement of TRS’s WHS framework across our workshops, offices, and field environments. This role works collaboratively with operational leaders to drive proactive safety practices and support activities including hazard identification, incident response, WHS training, reporting, contractor management and compliance. You will help build WHS capability at all levels of the business, ensuring TRS meets its legislative obligations and remains a safe, efficient and productive workplace. This is a 12-month maternity leave coverage position, with the possibility of extension, offered on a permanent part‑time basis (approx. 22.5 hours per week). Flexible working arrangements are available for the right person, based at our Huntingwood head office. What You’ll Do Support implementation of WHS systems, procedures and safe work practices Conduct workplace inspections, hazard identification and risk assessments Assist with incident investigations, corrective actions and reporting Maintain WHS records, including SDS, risk assessments and equipment registers Support development and review of SWMS, SOPs and related WHS documents Coordinate and deliver WHS training, toolbox talks and safety communications Maintain contractor WHS compliance and induction records Support emergency preparedness including drills and equipment checks Track WHS actions, trends and reporting to Management Provide practical WHS guidance to employees and field teams across TRS sites What You’ll Bring Minimum Certificate IV in Workplace Health & Safety Current First Aid certificate Ability to work safely across operational environments (workshop, office, onsite) Understanding of the Work Health & Safety Act 2011 and SafeWork Australia guidelines and industry standards Strong communication skills and the ability to build constructive relationships Excellent organisation and attention to detail Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with WHS legislation, regulations and standards Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism Who You Are Proactive and solutions‑focused Collaborative and confident communicator Detail‑oriented with strong reporting and documentation skills Calm and composed when responding to incidents Flexible and adaptable to changing operational needs Supportive and engaging, encouraging positive safety culture Able to prioritise effectively across multiple locations Why Join TRS?
