Senior Manager Resilience – Great Southern Bank Based in Brisbane or Sydney, you will lead and execute the Bank’s ability to anticipate, manage and withstand disruptions, and recover from them in accordance with CPS230 Operational Risk Management. Reporting to the Head of Operational Risk, you will oversee the continued development and sustained management of Great Southern Bank’s operational risk and resilience, business continuity, crisis management, and service provider governance. You will provide second‑line oversight and challenge to ensure that business units actively manage, raise, and resolve resilience risks in line with our risk‑management framework. Working with senior leaders in business, technology, and risk areas, you will manage BAU resilience risks and major projects/change while supporting the ongoing maturity of our risk framework. You’ll make an impact by: Developing, maintaining, and overseeing policies and standards that reduce business disruption and ensure compliance with regulatory obligations such as CPS230. Coordinating robust business resilience plans to maintain critical operations during crises, including testing through simulations or exercise. Conducting operational risk reviews across the business and overseeing controls to align with strategy, business outcomes, and APRA Prudential Standards (CPS230), including control design, implementation, and resilience assurance. Representing the second line in risk forums, project working groups, and steering committees. Providing second‑line challenge and oversight against operational risks and governance frameworks. Analyzing risk profiles, incident and issue data, and Key Risk Indicators to prepare insights for fact‑based reporting on operational risk performance. Supporting the development of key risk‑management framework artefacts. To succeed in this role, you will have: Minimum of 10 years of relevant risk‑management experience, including several years focused on Business Continuity. Experience identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks at a group‑wide level, covering operational resilience, business continuity planning, crisis management, or related fields within the financial services industry. Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills to balance competing priorities and expectations. Ability to build relationships at all levels and communicate risk‑management practices effectively. Knowledge of relevant financial‑services regulatory and compliance considerations. Strategic thinking and solution delivery for risk issues. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Why Great Southern Bank?
