Job Title: Electrical Trade Assistant (Solar & Battery Systems) Location: Multiple Locations Across Australia Overview The Electrical Trade Assistant supports licensed electricians and the installation team in the delivery, installation, and maintenance of solar and battery systems. The role involves assisting with electrical and mechanical installation tasks, ensuring all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards and WHS requirements. Responsibilities Assist electricians in the installation of solar PV and battery storage systems. Prepare and set up tools, materials, and equipment required for each job. Perform basic wiring, conduit installation, and cable management under supervision. Mount and connect inverters, isolators, and battery units as directed. Ensure all components are securely installed and tested according to company and regulatory standards. Site Work & Logistics Load, unload, and transport materials and tools to and from work sites. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work site and vehicles. Assist with system testing, commissioning, and data recording. Report any defects, hazards, or incidents promptly to the supervisor. Safety & Compliance Follow all Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) procedures and use PPE correctly. Assist in implementing safe work practices during electrical installation activities. Ensure work complies with Australian Standards, Electrical Safety Regulations, and company procedures. Participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings. Teamwork & Communication Work collaboratively with electricians and other team members. Communicate effectively with supervisors to ensure timely completion of projects. Demonstrate professional conduct when representing the company on‑site. Requirements Previous experience assisting in electrical or solar installation (preferred). White Card (Construction Induction Card) – required. Working at Heights certificate – preferred / required depending on role. Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks. Strong attention to detail and safety awareness. Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn. Desirable Qualifications Knowledge of solar PV, battery systems, or renewable energy industry practices. First Aid and CPR certificate.
