Backhoe Operator At Roadline Contracting Pty Ltd, we are looking for a skilled Backhoe Operator to work on a full-time basis (38‑40 hours per week). Duties and Responsibilities: Operate the machine to complete excavation, trenching, and earthmoving tasks according to project plans. Clear and prepare work areas by removing soil, debris, and vegetation as directed by the site supervisor. Load, move, and place materials such as soil, gravel, road base, and construction waste. Assist with civil works including drainage installation, pipe laying support, and preparation of road and pavement bases. Perform daily machine checks, basic maintenance, greasing, and cleaning to keep the machine in safe working order. Work alongside ground crews, spotters, and supervisors to ensure accurate excavation and safe coordination on busy construction sites. Follow all workplace health and safety practices, use required PPE, and identify hazards around underground services or confined areas. Maintain clear records of work completed, machine hours, defects, and site issues encountered. Support other plant operations when required and assist with loading, unloading, or relocating equipment on site. Requirements Relevant qualification or 1 year of experience in lieu of the qualification. At least 1 year of experience. Good time management skills and able to work under pressure.
