Make a difference in cancer care About the Opportunity Join the Murrumbidgee Local Health District Oncology team and play a pivotal role in coordinating complex cancer care at Wagga Wagga. We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Clinical Nurse/Midwife Specialist Grade 2 (CNS2/CMS2) with advanced clinical skills, leadership experience, and a commitment to patient‑centred care. This is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patients’ treatment experiences and quality of life. As the CNS2/CMS2 you will be responsible for: Delivering high‑level, evidence‑based care and support to patients and carers across the cancer treatment pathway. Coordinating care across multiple services, including local, regional, and tertiary providers. Acting as a professional role model, providing patient advocacy, mentoring, and clinical leadership. Conducting assessments, offering expert consultation, and educating staff, patients, and families. The Cancer Care Coordinator will facilitate the continuity and quality of care for patients diagnosed with cancer. The role will vary according to the tumour type (or types) and the complexity of care required based on the needs of individual patients under their care. Ensuring accurate documentation, care planning, and compliance with clinical standards. Contributing to quality improvement, policy development, and fostering a culture of learning and collaboration. About You Our ideal candidate will demonstrate: Current AHPRA‑registered Nurse or Midwife Advanced clinical expertise in oncology or complex care Demonstrated experience in patient advocacy, mentoring, and clinical leadership Ability to work autonomously while contributing positively within a multidisciplinary team Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills Commitment to safe, high‑quality, patient‑centred care Experience in developing and improving clinical practice, policies, and processes Why join MLHD?
