Procurement Officer / Inventory Controller Oriem is a fast-growing company in the concrete steel reinforcement industry supplying to builders / developers and concreters. We are looking for a person to join our team and grow with our business in the position of Procurement Officer / Inventory Controller at our St Marys Head Office. The successful candidate will be trained in varying aspects of the business as this is a pivotal role. Working in a team environment, the Procurement Officer / Inventory Controller will liaise with varying members of the team from the warehouse to management. This is a very involved role and will suit an organised person with attention to detail. You will also need to have great communication skills. Location: St Marys Working Hours: Monday - Friday 7.00am - 4.00pm Key Responsibilities Communicate with operations to ensure the material needs of the business network are satisfied in accordance with inventory control, purchasing and customer requirements. Maintain preferred suppliers list, supplier contract management and purchase orders. Negotiate favourable trading terms and pricing with suppliers. Review, compare, analyse, and approve products and services for purchase. Identify and implement asset/inventory control measures. Ensure stock control and stocktake procedures are in place over multiple locations. Qualifications & Requirements Minimum 3 years’ experience in purchasing and procurement within a fast‑paced environment. Highly proficient with MS Office Suite – Advanced in Excel. Professional and clear written & verbal communication skills. Well‑developed organisational, planning and prioritisation skills. Flexible and adaptable to changes in the business. Desired Personal Qualities Humble – Emphasises ‘team’ over ‘self’ and defines success collectively rather than individually. Hungry – Self‑motivated and diligent. Smart – Aims to deliver solutions; not problems, shows good judgement and is intuitive.
