Role The SALP aims to remove barriers to learning and create an environment where autistic students (without a diagnosed intellectual disability) can thrive. As a SALP teacher, you will deliver highly engaging and contextually relevant teaching programs designed to support the social‑emotional learning of the students during their scheduled focus lessons. The successful applicant will ideally have an understanding of the use of evidence‑based practices that support students with disability to engage successfully within an integrated and inclusive College environment. You should be a student‑focused practitioner who is committed to working in partnership with the student, parent/guardian and wider school community to deliver positive outcomes for each student. Essential Experience & Knowledge Apply evidence‑based pedagogy for improving student outcomes relevant to the WA curriculum. Knowledge and/or a commitment to participate in relevant training in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), positive behaviour support and a range of evidence‑based teaching practices to improve student outcomes. Monitor, review and report on the performance of students by creating individualised learning plans, maintaining relevant, rigorous and valid programming, data collection and reporting systems. Efficiently deploy resources and manage a team of education assistants to ensure program fidelity. Display high level interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with colleagues, parents, students and the school community. Be versatile in teaching in Mainstream and/or the Teaching and Learning Centre. This will be discussed and negotiated based on each applicant’s strengths and teaching experience. Professional Benefits Temporary Attraction and Retention Incentive of $2 000. 12% employer contributions to superannuation. 12 weeks’ vacation leave (school holidays). Free relocation. Teachers and School Administrators employed at Eaton Community College in 2026 are eligible to receive a temporary Attraction and Retention Incentive of $2 000 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro‑rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment. Mobility Appointments for Permanent, Metropolitan and South West Teachers Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school may elect to undertake this role as a 3‑year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3‑year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.
