We’re also passionate about our customers, products, and living our values of: Doing the right thing Being in it together Giving a damn Getting it done About the role Reporting to the Credit & Risk Team Leader, the Credit Risk Officer plays a key role in ensuring strong governance, compliance and consistency across Bapcor’s Group Credit function. The purpose of this role is to support profitable business growth by applying robust credit controls, mitigating risk, and upholding Bapcor’s Credit Policy across all business units. You will partner closely with stores, shared services teams, operations, finance and external stakeholders to ensure credit decisions are timely, accurate and aligned with business objectives. What You’ll Do: Process new account applications and manage external recoveries in line with Group Credit Policy. Maintain PPSR registrations, customer master data and support periodic credit limit and portfolio reviews. Ensure data accuracy across ERP systems and comply with all Group Credit policies and procedures. Provide exceptional customer service and guidance to stores, business units and internal stakeholders. Engage effectively with external partners such as mercantile agents, legal providers and credit bureaus. Apply strong governance and controls to minimise credit risk across the Group. Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and consistency. What We’re Looking For: Experience in a credit risk, new accounts or recoveries function—ideally in a trade credit environment. Working knowledge of fair credit practices, credit regulations and recoveries processes. Ability to work across multiple large ERP systems. Strong commercial judgement and risk assessment capability. Ability to influence and build relationships at all levels. A proactive, solutions-focused approach. The resilience to work with challenging customers while achieving positive outcomes.
