Portable Fire Technician

We have an opportunity for someone with excellent customer service in the fire protection industry to undertake the following works across the greater Melbourne and Geelong areas: Minimum 3-5 years of fire protection industry experience is required. Perform testing and inspection on a routine basis of fire protection equipment. Certified technician level experience with portable fire equipment is essential. Maintain and install equipment, highlighting and identifying any issues with current equipment on site. Provide recommendations in relation to the portable fire equipment our customers need to achieve AS1851 compliance. Essential knowledge of AS1851 compliance standards is required from commencement. The fire safety equipment involved includes (but not necessarily limited to) fire hose reels, hydrants, doors, eye wash stations, extinguishers, blankets. It would be great if you can also undertake works around the Emergency & Exit lighting and Paths of Egress inspections. You should have a strong work ethic and be a highly effective communicator who relates well with clients using clear and concise verbal and written skills. You should have confidence in using phone applications for recording testing results including the addition of photos and defect comments/suggestions. You should be able to work with a positive attitude, with honesty and integrity, and have the ability to achieve deadlines with attention to detail. You should be relatively fit and able to walk distances in one day including up & down stairs. You must have current Working With Children and Police Check. You must have a current full Victorian Driver’s Licence as well as a Construction Industry White Card. A restricted registration for hose reels and un-pumped hydrants would be preferred.
