We're hiring a Management Accountant in Brisbane. This is a full-time permanent role helping drive performance and support strategic decisions. About the role Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Management Accountant role exists to support the organisation in achieving strategic financial objectives. The role is required to support the decision-making process by providing insight into current and future performance through partnership with departments. The successful applicant’s core responsibilities will be: Develop strong and effective relationships with budget holders/managers, providing consultation on a range of complex finance matters; Manage and coordinate the annual budget process and complete regular forecasts during the financial year in an efficient and effective manner; Develop income and cost models for strategic projects, campaigns and initiatives, and provide reporting for ROI and benefit analysis; Provide reports to Executives and Managers on Ministry performance and understand key drivers and variances; Manage all aspects of the financial disbursement process and build relationships with Compassion International (CI); Develop and manage cost allocation methodology; Understand, comply with and be able to communicate the Delegation of Authority Policy and other relevant policies and procedures; and Improve systems and processes relating to budgets, forecasts and management reporting through the use of technology and robust processes. About you We’re looking for an individual with: A recognised Qualification by a Professional Accounting Body in Australia – CPA, CA or CIMA (Essential) Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or Business (Essential) In-depth experience in preparing budgets and forecast, 5 years minimum Knowledge of budget and forecast models and processes Strong knowledge of accounting concepts and standards Highly proficient in: managing budget and forecast processes and models analysis and variance investigation management reporting both verbal and written; advisory, negotiation, consultation and influencing skills At the heart of Compassion’s ministry is a relentless passion to act on our faith and empower every child left vulnerable by poverty.
