Base pay range A$170,000.00/yr - A$200,000.00/yr Are you ready to step into a role where you can lead a full system uplift, reshape finance processes end-to-end and influence how a newly acquired business integrates into a national group? You will be working with one of Australia’s largest home improvement retailers, currently rolling out MS Dynamics 365 Business Central for a newly acquired business. You will be at the heart of Tech, Finance and Operations across the business as the Finance Transformation Lead. Where you’ll get exposure to system configuration, process improvement, testing and driving user adoption, while working closely with senior finance and IT leaders. The role is a 12‑month contract based in Kilsyth, VIC (5 days on‑site, but flexible on start/finish times) and paying up to circa $200k + Super for outstanding candidates. There is also a possibility for extension into another role within the business after the completion of the first 12 months. It’s your chance to play a key role in a major transformation project and see your work directly impact how finance operates across the business. The role 12‑month fixed‑term contract with the possibility of opportunities elsewhere in the broader group as the contract progresses. Own a transformation program from start to finish. Shape systems, data, processes and controls for a newly acquired entity. Work directly with a CFO who values clarity, ownership and pragmatic problem‑solving. What you’ll be doing You’ll work closely with the CFO to prepare the acquired business for Day 1 transition, uplift the finance capability and embed strong processes across manufacturing, retail operations, reporting and controls. Lead pre‑completion planning including payroll setup, system preparation and data readiness. Review existing processes (currently cash accounting) and build scalable workflows from the ground up. Oversee the migration to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, including configuration, testing and training. Strengthen BOM accuracy, job costing and end‑to‑end manufacturing and retail WIP processes. Align financial reporting, compliance and tax obligations with group standards (FBT, GST, Income Tax, WGEA, sustainability reporting). Establish monthly stocktake routines and uplift stock management processes. Lead internal and external audit readiness, identify control gaps, and implement remediation plans. Support cashflow management and integration into consolidation frameworks. Partner with finance, operations, HR and IT stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition and embed sustainable improvements. What we’re looking for This role requires someone who is hands‑on, confident in ambiguity and experienced in transformation environments. Experience in finance transformation, post‑acquisition integration or large‑scale systems change. Strong working knowledge of Dynamics 365 Business Central. Background in manufacturing, particularly BOM, WIP and job costing best practice. Strong understanding of Australian reporting, payroll and tax compliance. Confident project manager with the ability to influence at all levels. Someone calm under pressure, analytical, structured, and resilient. A proactive operator who enjoys fixing processes, not just maintaining them.
