What you'll lead Reporting to the Director, Enterprise Platforms and Service, you'll command the IT Field Support team as they deploy and maintain election infrastructure across Victoria. Your responsibilities include: Orchestrate statewide operations: direct your team in deploying, running, and supporting IT infrastructure across hundreds of election sites throughout Victoria, all the while being prepared to be hands‑on as required with a ‘can‑do' attitude Design and execute: build operational plans that seamlessly commission and decommission election IT infrastructure on demanding timelines Take charge when it counts: provide strategic oversight and hands‑on leadership during high‑pressure election events when every minute matters Solve problems in real‑time: manage critical incidents, coordinate vendor responses, and ensure service levels hold when stakes are highest Develop your team: coach performance, balance workloads strategically, and champion continuous improvement Get out in the field: travel throughout VEC offices, including overnight stays during election periods What you'll bring Battle‑tested experience managing IT field support/helpdesk and infrastructure in high‑volume, deadline‑driven environments with multiple distributed locations Deep technical expertise in Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and corporate network environments Solid grasp of IT service management principles – incident management, change management, and SLAs that actually work Proven leadership ability – you know how to build, inspire, and direct technical teams through complex challenges Exceptional organisational skills – you juggle multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities without breaking a sweat Communication excellence – you translate technical complexity for any audience and build strong stakeholder relationships Unflappable under pressure – you make clear‑headed decisions when elections are on the line and the spotlight is intense Relevant certifications in Microsoft, Cisco, ITIL, or project management (highly valued) How to apply All applicants must submit: a current CV and a separate document with responses to Key Selection Criteria (KSC) 6.1, 6.3, 6.5 as listed in the position description.
