Role Overview The specialist will provide expert medical assessment and management of patients managed by the department of nephrology, including inpatients of the service, patients referred to the service, outpatients and patients undergoing hemodialysis (HD) and peritoneal dialysis (PD) in our treatment centers. The specialist will be expected to deal with patients with hypertension, general nephrological issues, dialysis patients HD and PD, and patients preparing for and post renal transplantation. Location The primary location may vary as agreed with the Director of Medical Services and approved by MDAAC to other facilities in SESLHD. Aboriginal Employment Consultant can assist at Qualifications Registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) or eligible for registration; provide AHPRA Registration Number. Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and/or equivalent specialist recognition. Continuing medical education and audit practices consistent with scope of practice. Proven experience in Nephrology, including management of general nephrological issues, dialysis (HD and PD), pre- and post-renal transplantation care in a public setting. Commitment to teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students and staff. Senior medical practitioner skills and professional behaviour. Effective teamwork, communication with patients, colleagues, and staff across multiple sites. Research commitment and evidence of postgraduate degree (PhD desirable).
