We are seeking a Full Time Duty Manager at The Reef Hotel Casino, the pre-eminent centre for gaming, entertainment, food and accommodation in Cairns. A rare and exciting opportunity for a guest‑obsessed, dynamic and self‑motivated front office professional to join our friendly Front Office team. Key Responsibilities Assist with the overall operation of the hotel ensuring our service provided exceeds guests’ expectations. Welcome and provide updates to guests as required. Assist the Manager in directing and coordinating activities to achieve maximum efficiency and proficiency. Facilitate a smooth running of the department on your allocated shifts. Be accountable for the provision of consistent quality of service in the Lobby area. Criteria Passionate about providing the guests with an experience they will cherish. Previous experience in Front Office operations in a hotel environment. Working knowledge of hotel procedures and policies concerning reservations, room assignments, Front Office procedures, restaurant and room charges, and credit requirements. Proven experience in delegation, rostering, problem solving and motivational leadership. Advanced computer literacy in all front office applications. Opera experience preferred. Able to manage and assist Front Office staff by leading from the front desk at all times. Accuracy with figures, a keen ‘eye for detail’. Current Queensland Class A driver’s licence. Excellent communication and guest relations skills. Able to handle guest complaints tactfully, maintain the property reputation and gain a favourable outcome for the guest. The ability to understand, be supportive, encourage and be helpful to your fellow colleagues. A ‘quick thinker’ with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Exemplary guest relations and selling skills. All Front Office applicants are required to possess a current Queensland Responsible Service of Alcohol Attainment Certificate , and a current Class A driver’s licence .
