Aboriginal Health Worker/Practitioner, Primary Care – PFT – Junee Correctional Centre Employment Type : Permanent Full Time Position Classification : Aboriginal Health Worker/Practitioner Remuneration : $69,410.00 - $90,357.00 per annum + superannuation Hours Per Week : 38 Requisition ID : REQ We are looking for a qualified Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Professional who can deliver culturally sensitive and holistic primary care to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people within the Justice Health NSW system. This identified position is based on a genuine occupational qualification under Section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977. Qualifications Aboriginal Health Practitioner: Holds a Certificate IV in Aboriginal Primary Health Care (Practice) and is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Aboriginal Health Worker: Holds or aspires to hold a minimum Certificate III qualification in Aboriginal Primary Health Care. Willing to obtain Cert IV in Aboriginal Primary Health Care (Practice) and will be supported to transition to an Aboriginal Health Practitioner upon completion and registration with AHPRA. Eligible to drive in NSW and able to travel as required. The Role As an Aboriginal Health Practitioner, Primary Care, you will work as a key member of our multidisciplinary health centre team to provide flexible, holistic, and culturally sensitive health care services. The focus is on prevention and management of chronic disease for Aboriginal clients and supporting them on their journey throughout custody back into the community, particularly those with chronic or complex health conditions. You will collaborate with nursing staff, Integrated Care Service, health professionals, Corrective Services NSW, Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations and other relevant health and community groups to ensure seamless, timely and effective health care delivery.
