Child Health Aboriginal Health Practitioner Broome Regional Aboriginal Medical Service – Broome WA Broome Regional Aboriginal Medical Service (BRAMS) has supported the Broome community for over 40 years. BRAMS delivers holistic, culturally safe primary health care and community programs designed around the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Empowering Families Through Culturally Safe Care ABOUT THE ROLE: The Child Health Aboriginal Health Practitioner provides family‑centred and culturally safe health care within the BRAMS Model of Care. The role supports the ORCHID Program, which focuses on diabetes in pregnancy, helping women and families through antenatal, birthing, and postnatal care. You’ll work closely with GPs, nurses, allied health staff, and other community services to reduce barriers to care, strengthen health literacy, and improve outcomes for Aboriginal women and children. Key areas include: Supporting women and families in diabetes in pregnancy programs Providing education and practical support for antenatal and postnatal care Conducting health checks and assisting with care plans within scope of practice Coordinating care between primary health, hospital, and community services WHAT YOU'LL BRING: Candidates must address the following selection criteria Certificate IV in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care Practice Experience supporting community‑based or health programs Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to take direction, manage priorities, and meet timelines WHY BRAMS?
