About the Role This is an Ongoing full-time position in Ballarat. The Roadside Delivery Lead plays a pivotal role in the successful execution of the VRMC Grampians contract, acting as a key driver of operational performance, stakeholder engagement and strategic oversight in relation to the roadside and environment. Additionally, this position is central to ensuring the effective delivery of routine roadside maintenance services across the Grampians region, with direct accountability for managing the annual programme and lastly, the Roadside Delivery Lead will manage a diverse portfolio of works, addressing emerging issues, driving continuous improvement, and delivering value-for-money outcomes for all stakeholders. To access the Position Description, please click here Key Selection Criteria To be successful in the Roadside Delivery Lead role, you will build strong stakeholder relationships by adding value, linking relevant parties and constructively addressing issues, while managing difficult conversations through negotiation, problem‑solving and coaching others. You will apply critical thinking to resolve problems, interpret guidelines and make informed decisions, ensuring actions align with organisational values, ethics, legal obligations and the priorities of key stakeholders and lastly, you will support effective project delivery by coordinating tasks, monitoring progress and applying commercial awareness to manage costs, engage vendors efficiently and achieve agreed outcomes. Responsibilities Lead the end-to-end planning, development, and execution of roadside maintenance programs, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This includes the development, review, and approval of works programs and packages. Build and maintain strong, productive relationships with contractor representatives, fostering a culture of transparency, accountability, and high performance. Oversee contractor activities and ensure adherence to contractual obligations and safety standards. Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including local councils, government agencies, and community representatives. Navigate competing priorities and communicate effectively to ensure alignment of goals, expectations, and delivery outcomes. Drive a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing initiatives that enhance service delivery, operational efficiency, and safety performance. Apply risk management and asset management principles to ensure long-term sustainability. Provide strategic insights and reporting to management and relevant authorities, offering recommendations that support contract performance, risk mitigation, and program optimisation. Qualifications and Experience Mandatory: Experience relevant to the capabilities of the role. Desirable: Tertiary qualification in a relevant or related discipline.
