EmpowerHer is a new program funded by the Department of Social Services, Strong and Resilient Communities grants. The program is designed to work with 12‑18 year old young women to build their confidence, self‑identity, resilience, equip them with skills to handle life's challenges and remain engaged in education. About the role As a part‑time Youth Mentor at Girls Time Out Young Women's Support Service Inc. you will play a crucial role in providing support and guidance to young women in our community aged 12‑18. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the individuals we serve. What you’ll be doing Mentoring and supporting young women, aged 12‑18, through one‑on‑one mentoring and group sessions Helping young women develop essential life skills, such as goal‑setting, problem‑solving, and healthy coping mechanisms Organising and facilitating engaging workshops and activities that promote personal growth and empowerment Collaborating with the broader team to ensure the delivery of high‑quality services and programs Maintaining accurate case notes and records to support the ongoing development and improvement of our services What we’re looking for Demonstrated experience in youth work, counselling, or a related field Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with young people A genuine passion for supporting and empowering young women to reach their full potential Strong problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills, with the ability to provide tailored support to each individual Familiarity with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures within the community services sector Relevant qualifications, such as a Certificate IV in Youth Work or a related field, are highly desirable What we offer Competitive remuneration and the opportunity for career development A supportive and collaborative team environment that values work‑life balance Access to ongoing training and professional development opportunities The chance to make a tangible impact on the lives of young women in our community About us Girls Time Out Young Women’s Support Service Inc. is a not‑for‑profit organisation established in 1993, dedicated to empowering and supporting young women in the Rockhampton region.
