We currently have a full-time vacancy for a Laboratory Technician to join the team at Fulton Hogan based at our Lara laboratory. This position will suit either entry level or experienced candidates looking to take the next step in their career. Responsibilities Sampling and testing of asphalt, aggregates, binders and asphalt field compaction testing. The hands‑on, day‑to‑day sampling and testing in accordance with specified requirements. The handling and management of chemicals in line with relevant standards. Reporting, record keeping and calibrations, including reporting non‑conforming products. Conduct procedures safely and maintain good housekeeping of laboratory and surrounds. Providing technical support to production departments. Maintain the laboratory in accordance with NATA requirements. Some travel will be required, based on the needs of the business. Qualifications & Experience Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure and achieve strict deadlines. Professional communication, written and interpersonal skills. Honest, confident and reliable. Commitment to workplace safety, quality, punctuality, reliability, respect for others and teamwork. Current and valid Driver's Licence. Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques (advantageous). Previous experience in heavy industries or an interest in this field. Understanding of the asphalt industry. Knowledge of Australian standards for laboratories is favourable; full training will be provided. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Experience of QESTLAB is advantageous.
