New Business and StrategyPre-contracts ManagerBrisbanePermanent / Full Time28/5/2024Lead pre-contract activities with a strategic approachUse your specialist knowledge of pre-contracts to enhance bid strategiesNurture relationships with clients, consultants and key stakeholdersAbout the roleAs a member of the QLD/NT Regional Management Team, and reporting to the Regional General Manager, you will be responsible for building and leading a high performing pre-contracts team. The key objective of this role is to secure a strong pipeline of work that is aligned to the McConnell Dowell business strategy and organisational values and will deliver sustained returns to the business.
Through collaboration with cross-functional teams – commercial, estimating, planning and construction teams - you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact and create a legacy within the QLD/NT region. You will do this by securing work that can be delivered safely on time and within budget and which provides a better life for people in the communities we work in.The role will be based in Brisbane and offers flexibility, with occasional travel to our regional site locations and key clients throughout Queensland and the Northern Territory.
Key accountabilities/responsibilities include:Manage the New Business & Strategy processes in accordance with Company procedures.Develop and maintain a project opportunity pipeline that will deliver sustained returns to the business.Assist bid managers to develop strong tenders which consider appropriate construction methods, cost planning, scheduling, plant selection and temporary work solutions.Manage the regional bid budget across the financial year.Provide leadership, support, and development to the local pre-contracts team members.About youSound working knowledge of the construction industry including construction methodology development, design management and “first principles” estimating.Tertiary qualifications are preferred, ideally in engineering, construction management or project management.Experience in successfully delivering large infrastructure construction projects under a variety of commercial arrangements is desirable.Strong commercial acumen, including understanding and assessing market trends to make informed decisions.Relationships focussed, and the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and concisely.Don’t tick all the boxes but you’re still excited about this opportunity?
