Utilise your horticultural expertise to create a positive impact on the Central Coast community. Oversee effective weed and pest management for sports fields. Permanent full‑time role working 38 hours per week with a 9‑day fortnight. Tool of trade vehicle available. About the role The Horticulturist Spray Technician plays a crucial role in managing pests and weeds across various sports fields. This position is responsible for delivering comprehensive spray programs while ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. In this role, you will provide quality customer service, effectively allocate resources, and maintain up‑to‑date administrative records. Your commitment to horticultural best practices will contribute significantly to the community’s enjoyment of our public spaces. About You Certificate III in Horticulture/Parks and Gardens or equivalent experience. Current WHS Construction Induction Certificate (White Card). AQF Level 3 Chemical Accreditation certificate. Valid Class C Driver’s Licence. Desired qualifications include a Medium Rigid Driver’s Licence, First Aid Certificate, and AQF Level 4 Chemical Safety / Risk Management certificate. You should be able to manage your workload independently while adapting to changing priorities and customer needs. Salary and Benefits The commencing salary for this position is up to $68k per annum. Central Coast Council also provides progression opportunities up to $78.8k per annum on completion of assessment of skills and performance, plus $19.49 weekly allowance and 12% superannuation. Permanent full‑time role, 9‑day fortnight. Location: Erina Depot. Long service leave after 5 years of continuous service. Time provided for annual skin cancer screening, breast screen and blood donations. Access to professional development with career development and learning programs through various platforms.
