The Role Due to ongoing growth and record sales volumes, we’re on the lookout for a driven and experienced Used Vehicle Buyer to ensure we’re always stocked with the right vehicles at the right price. You’ll be instrumental in building our used car inventory, driving profitability and supporting the dealership’s continued momentum. Key Responsibilities Proactively source and acquire quality used vehicles through auctions, private sellers and wholesale networks Conduct accurate appraisals and valuations, ensuring every purchase meets our retail standards Negotiate confidently to secure the best stock at the best price Monitor market trends, resale values and competitor activity to stay ahead of the curve Collaborate closely with the Used Car Manager and sales team to maintain the ideal stock mix and maximise turnover Build lasting relationships with wholesalers, auction houses and private sellers About You You’ve got a sharp eye for value and the confidence to negotiate a great deal. You understand the used vehicle market inside out, and you love the thrill of securing the perfect car. You’ll bring Experience in used vehicle buying, appraisals, or similar automotive roles Strong negotiation and commercial skills Ability to assess vehicle condition (mechanical, cosmetic) Solid understanding of resale values and market trends Excellent communication and relationship-building skills A methodical, organised approach and the ability to work at pace Why Ferntree Gully Automotive?
