Residential Aged Care Visitor - chat about TV shows while colouring in - Hobart **The Role** The Aged Care Volunteer Visiting Scheme (ACVVS), funded by the Australian Government, connects volunteers with an older person who may be feeling lonely and/or socially isolated, to build friendships and reduce feelings of loneliness. In your volunteer role you will be paired with an aging senior to provide them with regular social support visits in their home. Activities during your visit are based on yours and your clients interests and could include conversation, playing board games, listening to music or sharing stories. Get to know someone new and make a difference in your local community **Our Client** We’re looking for a friendly volunteer to spend time with a lovely woman in her early 80s who lives in a residential aged care home. She adores chatting about travel, lifestyle magazines, reminiscing about her antiques and watching British TV shows. She also enjoys colouring in and an occasional make‑up session as well as a good laugh and warm conversation. If you enjoy connecting with people and have the confidence to keep a conversation flowing, this is a wonderful opportunity to make a real difference in someone’s life.
