About the Role As our Senior Engineer / Senior Technical Officer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring high-quality development outcomes across the Toowoomba Region. You will assess development applications, prepare comprehensive engineering reports, and oversee the construction of developer-delivered assets. Your expertise will help guide development that is safe, sustainable, and aligned with our region’s long-term vision. Key Responsibilities In this role, you will: Provide expert technical advice on all engineering aspects of development applications as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Undertake complex development assessment tasks, including: Operational Works application assessment Reviewing engineering design plans and technical reports Preparing high-quality technical reports Conducting pre-start meetings and construction inspections Recommending works “on maintenance” and “off maintenance” Reviewing As Constructed documentation and plan sealing Build and maintain strong working relationships within Council and the development industry. Apply advanced communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
