Position Description The Social Media and Content Officer will work across WaterAid’s social channels to increase brand awareness and engagement, build out the social content calendar and create engaging and conversation-starting posts, images, and videos for social platforms. Key Outcomes of this role Successful delivery of WaterAid Australia’s social media content and campaigns in a professional, innovative and timely manner resulting in an increased amount of public engagement and traffic Produce engaging social media content across the organisation's channels Populate/forward plan the organisation’s social content calendar Support the growth of the social channels and engaged followers Key Performance Areas/Accountabilities The Social Media Intern reports to the Communications Manager and is a member of the Digital and Communications team in the Corporate and Community Engagement (CCE) department. Plan out and execute the social content calendar Develop creative new ideas for content on all platforms Film and edit content for all social platforms Write engaging social media copy tailored to different audiences Increase supporter engagement with WaterAid’s social media platforms Monitor messaging to ensure consistency of brand Interact with followers and potential supporters by communicating and answering questions through the social platforms Assist in implementing plans to increase followers on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, YouTube and LinkedIn Knowledge, skills and experience Social media content creation and management experience Familiar with scheduling programs such as Later.com Excellent copy writing skills for social media Excellent skills with Adobe Suites inc. Photoshop, Premier Pro General knowledge of Search Engine Optimisation and internet ranking for web content Entry level marketing experience determining how to cater marketing campaigns to a unique audience Entry level understanding of marketing strategy and how to use the concepts throughout various forms of outreach Commitment to WaterAid’s values and standards of safety of children and protection from sexual exploitations and abuse in all our activities Demonstrate an understanding of gender equality and women’s empowerment including ethnic diversity and cultural sensitivity Commitment to innovation, continuous improvement and openness to new ideas and growth Open and friendly working style Ability to work independently but also work well within a collaborative team environment. Physical Environment and Demands Hybrid working environment involving work-from-home and office meetings. Ergonomic workstations within an open plan office and standing desks available, recreational area and flexible work environment.
