We built the Royal Australian Navy’s Collins Class submarines, sustain them, and are now delivering their Life of Type Extension to increase the boats’ service lives. Our 2026 apprentice intake is currently offering multiple opportunities at our Osborne site in Adelaide across the following streams: Electrical Fabrication - Boilermaker/Welder Mechanical - Fitter Why choose ASC’s Apprenticeship Program? Our 4-year program provides an opportunity to gain skills and experience in multiple areas, including control systems, propulsion, weaponry/combat systems and more. Plus, you’ll benefit from: the opportunity to work closely with, and learn from, our industry experts, including engineers, the wider production team and Navy personnel; ongoing career-building coaching and support; and access to state-of-the-art training equipment and facilities. What makes a successful apprentice? Strengths in STEM studies and/or Trade Studies; Verifiable work experience (paid or unpaid) detailed in your resume; Completion of a Certificate II in a relevant trade study (not mandatory). Overall, you’ll need to be reliable and punctual, have a strong commitment to safety, passion for your desired trade and a willingness to adapt quickly and learn new things. Successful applicants will be required to obtain an Australian Defence security clearance, which will involve a national police clearance and proof of Australian citizenship.
