About The Opportunity We are seeking a motivated and experienced Team Leader – Development Assessment Services to lead oversee and support Council’s Growth and Development. In this pivotal role your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to): Lead a team of technical officers in the provision of a range of technical tasks that support the other teams within the Development Assessment Branch to provide expert planning advice for escalated development enquiries and to engage with key internal and external stakeholders to provide high level customer service. The position will also be significantly involved in assisting the Manager to develop and implement continuous improvement projects for the Development Assessment Branch. Key responsibilities Lead and Advise – Manage a team of technical officers and provide expert planning advice to internal stakeholders and the public on development and land use matters. Coordinate and Deliver Services – Oversee the delivery of planning‑related services and correspondence ensuring compliance with timeframes and quality standards. Drive Strategic and Operational Initiatives – Contribute to planning instruments business improvement projects and cross‑functional collaboration to support Council objectives. About You Mandatory Hold a tertiary Degree in Urban and Regional Planning or related field. Five years experience in Local Government in the Development Assessment or related field. Demonstrated ability to manage projects and multiple tasks. High level professional skills and knowledge in the use of electronic information systems corporate IT systems for document management customer request management and Microsoft office suite of programs. Highly developed interpersonal and written communication skills. Membership of the Planning Institute of Australia. Desired Qualification in Management or equivalent management skills and experience.
