Communications & Information Officer Position No : Level / Salary : Level 4, $95,782 - $100,526 (PSCSAA 2024) Work Type : Fixed Term - Full Time Branch : Countering Violent Extremism Unit Location : Maylands Closing Date : 4 : 00 PM THE OPPORTUNITY Are you ready for your next exciting role? The Western Australia Police Force is seeking a dynamic and skilled Communication and Information Officer to join the Countering Violent Extremism Unit. In this pivotal role, you will help shape strategic communications for the WA Countering Violent Extremism Intervention and Support Program (WAISP), managing digital assets, enhancing online services and delivering impactful public awareness initiatives that strengthen community resilience. If you have strong communication skills, experience in online content management and a passion for meaningful engagement, this is your opportunity to make a real difference in supporting community safety. There is currently one (1) Temporary full-time position available for a period of twelve (12) months with the possibility of extension up to June 2028, this position is temporarily funded for a finite period. POSITION OBJECTIVE This position contributes to the Western Australia (WA) Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) Intervention and Support Program by supporting the development and maintenance of digital communication assets. Researches and coordinates program public awareness initiatives in line with strategies and plans. The CV must also include the names and contact details of two (2) referees who can comment on the applicant’s ability to satisfy all of the Essential Work-Related Requirements. OTHER CONDITIONS Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other similar vacancies throughout the metropolitan area. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from the initial date of the appointment.
