Employment Type Temporary Part Time up to 12 Months Position Classification Staff Specialist Requisition ID REQ Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is seeking an experienced Staff Specialist to join our team at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. Role Overview We are looking for a Staff Specialist Cardiac Anaesthetist. The primary purpose of the role is to provide high quality clinical services in Anaesthesia, and to participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities within the Anaesthetics Department and Hospital as required. This is a Staff Specialist position in Anaesthesia in a Level 6 Adult Hospital caring for high acuity and complexity patients. A core component of this position will be in Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia. Expertise in (or commitment to undertake training and gain proficiency in) Medical Perfusion and Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) is required as part of this role. The Staff Specialist will ensure a high standard of professional performance and encouragement of an academic environment which supports education, research and professional development. Medical practitioner, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Applicants must have Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) and/or other equivalent specialist recognition as provided for in the NSW Staff Specialists (State) Award. Position/s are currently available. In addition, applicants expecting to be awarded their Fellowship within two months from the beginning of the 2026 Clinical Year on 2 February 2026, may be considered. Salaryand conditions are in accordance withthe NSW Staff Specialist (State) Award.
