Microbiology is a key department in our Pathology Laboratory, servicing Lismore Base Hospital and the Northern Rivers Community. The role offers the opportunity to work in one of the largest regional laboratories in the state. The position involves participation in a 7‑day rotating roster and on‑call roster. Qualifications and Experience Minimum qualification of a Diploma in Laboratory Technology or equivalent from a recognised tertiary institution with subjects relevant to pathology or medical laboratory operations Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the delivery of pathology services within a relevant discipline, including use of Laboratory Information Systems, patient systems and quality systems Ability to work responsibly and efficiently, managing competing priorities to meet deadlines Ability to work in a team while working autonomously to deliver results within specified timeframes Customer‑focused approach with well‑developed interpersonal, oral and written communication skills Initiative, problem‑solving and analytical skills, including the ability to apply established principles and investigate and resolve general and complex issues in the laboratory Commitment to quality management principles and continuous quality improvement, identifying, developing and implementing quality and service improvement activities Additional Information Click here for the Position Description Find out more about applying for this position For queries contact Christopher Nicol at Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination Requirements This is a Category A position.
